The whiskerpick split from its ancestor the joviglut and has moved to Barlowe Tundra. There it found only one thing to eat, the tundra gemshrub. During the summer they were everywhere however during the winter they had to dig for them under the snow. It uses its sharp claws and icepick like whispers to get to them. Their fur has gotten very shaggy and even have some quills to protect them from predators.

Like their ancestors, they are warm blooded and give birth to live young. The live young live in the warm pouch until they either have grown too big or they grow quills. However they will still nurse milk from the mother for up to a year after birth even if they cannot fit in the pouch. They live in large herds and are quite social. Due to the cold their ears and eyes have gotten smaller to retain heat. Thus they must touch each other to communicate more. This can be very difficult when you have quills. However they are very gentle with each other. Their tails have a more concentrated amount of quills and can flick it around to injure predators.

They no longer build burrows and will stay active all year around. When it gets too cold they will huddle and keep juveniles that can no longer fit in their pouches in the center of the group. Males will fight over females by clashing "whisperpicks". They can sometimes loose an eye or 2. Luckily they have 6 eyes and can still survive if they loose a couple.
