The voracious anklebiter thornback split from its ancestor and now feeds upon it while young. Indeed, the larva of this species are among the voracious of the fauna on Fermi, consuming everything in their host cryobowl save each other. This appetite allows them to produce smaller eggs, and thus more eggs, as the larva will grow quickly. Despite the changes to their larva and breeding habits the adults are little different then their ancestors.
