Having split from its ancestor, the volcanic bandersnatch has since doubled in size and has become fully bipedal. They are now herbivores, feeding exclusively on "bane" flora . Still a highly reproductive species, its numbers, which would normally be kept in check by local predators, have grown due to the lack of predators. They live in herds, some with population number reaching the tens of thousands. They breed on the beach each year. Their jaw muscles have grown, allowing them to grind up the tough flora. The skin on their faces has grown tougher, in order to keep the brinebane's brine from irritating them.

Notes

The name Bandersnatch comes from two poems by Lewis Carroll, The Hunting of the Snark (An Agony in 8 Fits) and Jabberwocky.
