The violettail split off from violetgrass. During its evolution, the violettail has taken advantage of their new home by growing taller than its ancestor. Their leaves have become bigger and longer so that they can catch more sunlight than before. To help spread their pollen, their stalks became much taller so that they are higher up where the winds blow away the pollen. Since they can reproduce both by producing seeds and by suckering from its roots, they are very common where they live. However, since they are common, they are often eaten by pleppos and neavers.
