Ancestor:Descendants:

The tunnel tasertongue split from its ancestor, the tasertongue. It takes advantage of the tunnels that trowelhorn gulpers make, using abandoned tunnels as its home. It mainly raids the colony nests of the diggerundi and will eat both the diggerundi and their farming chambers full of cropshrooms. They are not really that great at digging. Like their ancestor their tongue produces a mild shock; this stuns any diggerrundi soldiers who try to attack them. This can also easily stun baby trowelhorn gulpers; however adult trowelhorn gulpers are a bit harder to eat since they are bigger than them, thus they try to avoid them unless one is sick or injured.

Its legs and tail have shortened to fit in the tunnels. Its prehensile fangs have grown longer to both defend itself and dig in the dirt. They are very poor diggers and will even try to use their feet. During mating season they will come to the surface, where males will fight for mates. It uses its tongue for smelling like its ancestor and will use it to "sniff" out small prey.
