The tumbling flune replaced its ancestor and almost doubled in size. It has gained the ability to roll by shifting its weight in the shell while it's curled up; however its rolling speed is rather slow and it has to uncurl itself to see where it's going. The armour plates now overlap and lock into place when curled up; also the spines have shortened so it can roll easier. It has spread its diet to the black flora of the regions and is equipped with a tougher beak to more easily eat the quillblades, spikeblades and needlestalk. Its breeding system hasn't changed from its ancestor.
