Ancestor:Descendants:

The tsybie are a result of secondary contact between their two ancestors among the waters between Kosemen and Wallace. Initial hybrids had sterility issues, and due to genetic drift the coding for how the shells formed had changed enough that hybrids had thinner, more flexible shells. While at first there was some initial breeding difficulty, male hybrids had less issues with sterility, and could reproduce back into one of their parent species. Overtime, this allowed for genetic exchanges to become more common, and selection for some hybrid traits eventually lead to total loss of pure representatives of both parent species, leading to their localized extinctions.

The tsybie shells are significantly thinner than the typical turtsnapper, and while this has resulted in a loss of protection this has given them greater mobility. The mobility allows the tsybie to quickly alter their direction of swimming, which allow them to weave between the mangal foliages, dodging predators like the wolfcollar shrog. Much like their ancestors, the tsybie is fully aquatic but lives and feeds in shallow water, typically near the mangals. They dabble on surface flora and will upend to feed on the flora in the sediment, keeping themselves buoyant by treading water. When available, the tsybies gorge themselves on tlukvaequabora berries, which typically result in congregating of many individuals.

Their reliance on tlukvaequabora berries has allowed the seeds to be dispersed all over their range, spreading the tlukvaequabora not only to the coastal regions, but into the Kosemen mainland, where they now make up a significant percentage of the trees in the Kosemen Temperate Rainforest.

The tlukvaequaboras and their associated biota has spread to Elerd Temperate Beach, Martyk Temperate Beach, Martyk Archipelago Temperate Beaches, and Kosemen Temperate Rainforest.
