The tower fernplent replaced its ancestor the cave fernplent. With only the lighting tree and joint-winged treeworm to compete with the tower fernplent was able to leave the cave and double in size. Those left in the cave eventually died due to the soil being taken over by the very successful devilvine.

Like its ancestor its has fern-like leaves. It has thick sap which heals it quickly and even captures small creatures in it. The top hole in males sprays out the spores every full moon. Females suck in air during this time trying to capture spores to fertilize their own spores. Once fertilized they will take a about a week to grow and then are spit back out as extremely tiny little airborne saplings. These sapling resemble swarmer with wings in appearance. Wherever they land is where they grow.

Living Relatives (click to show/hide)

These are randomly selected, and organized from lowest to highest shared taxon. (This may correspond to similarity more than actual relation)

None found. Note that this does not necessarily mean it has no living relatives at all, but that, assuming all taxonomy is filled in, its entire phylum is extinct; any relatives it does have likely do not resemble it.
