The talfuzz has replaced its ancestor, the fuzzshrub. It is a taller version of the fuzzshrub. This helps its new reproductive method, having smaller seeds that can float for short distances. The fuzz has also gotten thicker and darker, to help keep it warm in the cold weather. Being taller also helps it stay above the snow in winter, though of course the snow can still cover it, and it will become dormant like its ancestor.
