The sweeper foi has split from its ancestor and has adapted to obtain as much as possible from sifting the sand and mud. The sweeper foi is essentially the same appearance-wise as its ancestor, except that it is larger and wider. It uses its large body area to cover as much sand as possible. Its color changes different shades of red and orange depending on the color it is on.
The sweeper foi feeds on a daily routine. When the sun comes out, it starts its regular feeding path. They sift by simply crawling over the sand and mud. Food is obtained, digested and absorbed as it moves. It moves over a large area every day, adjusting its schedule ever so slightly to accommodate for changes. Changes can be bumping into another of its species, accidentally going over the same area twice, or being attacked. When the sun goes down they bury themselves, waiting to start their day again. Because it doesn't feed on swamp beans it hasn't replaced its ancestor.
