The swampslurper split from its ancestor. When some whiskerslurps ventured out of the Ferret Limestone Caves, they found themselves in an environment that was very different from its own. Many of these whiskerslurps died from drowning, predation by ukbacks and ukjaws, and having to compete with the faster netoris ukjaw. Those that survived had to evolve relatively quickly. The swampslurper has evolved into more of a herbivorous plent, though it still feeds on vermees when it can. Much like its ancestor, the swampslurper uses its sensitive tentacles to seek out food in the murky water and scoops it up with its newly evolved shovel-like mouth. It has also evolved longer, pillar-like legs that support its body out of the water and help it run faster than its ancestor. In order to manage in the hot tropical climate, its color has become lighter and its ears are wider than its ancestor's.
The swampslurper lives in small groups that consist of 3-5 members that listen for predators nearby. The swampslurper defends itself by swiping its spine-covered butt-nostril at predators, kicking its leg-spikes, and even just ramming into them can work as well. The swampslurper has only one offspring and lives for up to 23 years.
