The swampgrass is a development of violetgrass which arose in the swamps of the Hydro region's major swamp. Despite it's color, the swampgrass doesn't contain chlorophyll. It still photosynthesizes using the purple pigment that all textuodohexapodia related plants use. The greenish coloration from which it gets its name actually comes from a substance in its leaves which helps it to grow in moist swampy areas. Gradually, seeds from the swampgrass have been distributed to almost all swamp regions on the Wright super-continent.
