The striped quilltail split from its ancestor, the quilltail. It has doubled in size and no longer lives underground. Durring the day they will seek shade behind boulders or turrideas. They have changed their diet to eat the Jaydoh Goth Tree so it will not compete with its ancestor. Like its ancestor they are nocturnal in order to stay cool when active. When sleeping in the shade during the day one member of the herd is always awake to keep guard. They take turns so all members can sleep.
They have regained spines on their backs in order to keep the Jaydoh Waxfaces from biting them. They also have cheek spikes as well. While their tails are not as long as their ancestor they can use them to flick at predators. However staying in a herd and being able to sprint keeps them them safe most of the time.
They are warm blooded and give birth to live young. The live young live in the pouch until they either have grown too big or they grow tail quills. However they will still nurse milk from the mother for up to a year after birth even if they cannot fit in the pouch. They are still quite social and will travel in large herds across the desert. Males will even fight over females by knocking cheek spikes or swiping their tails at each other. Most of the time they don't actually hit each other and is more for show.
