The standing spikeleaf split from its ancestor. Due to a shrinking habitat, it has become amphibious once again. Its base has grown and its leaves have developed a strong support structure in order to not only hold the leaves up, but also to allow it to spread its spores up higher. When on land, its leaves touch the ground, allowing it to angle its leaves to catch the most sunlight possible.
