The stalking shrew split off from the Ferret shrew and have moved out into the savanna. In order to survive, they had to develop better eyesight, better sense of smell and they had to eat vegetation.
The stalking shrew has also developed better hearing and it has evolved an actual ear that's made of cartilage, skin, and other tissues. Its back feet have become slightly longer than their ancestor's. This helps them stand up on two legs, which helps them keep a look out for prey and other stalking shrews.
Unlike its ancestor, the stalking shrew has sexual dimorphism. The males have bright orange stripes, no pouches, and are more aggressive. While the females have purple stripes, and a pouch that has the opening of the pouch facing forwards.
