The sporeberry tree replaced its ancestor on Abello Desert Island. Due to island gigantism, they have grown to enormous proportions. They fill the niche of trees on Abello. Their leaves have become thick and bark like. Their gliding berries are now more aerodynamic, and look similar to feathers. In order to survive the hard desert heat with optimal conditions as young sprouts the berry already contain leaves hidden inside. Their wings are able to use photosynthesis quite early though very few nutrients like others seeds, and a unique biochemical system of soaking humidity from the air that atrophies when it grows older. The sporeberry trees also grow a single fruit that grows in a stem on the sides of the trees. When an organism eats the berries, they also ingest the millions of spores within. These pass through their digestive systems harmlessly, spreading the spores all over the island. They regrow these every other day during the rainy seasons.
