The spinetrunk airbulb has replaced their ancestor and has spread throughout southern Mason. They have grown larger and gained protective spikes to defend their bulbs from predators. Like their ancestors they inflate their bulbs when they reach maturity, then release thousands of spores. The spores will eventually grow quickly into an adult flora, requiring very little nutrients and water. They will grow into a mature "plant" within three weeks. This rapid growth is followed by a very visible slowing down, allowing the flora to live for several seasons.
