The speckled spinderorm split from its ancestor. While similar to it in many ways, it instead prefers to shoal along the shallower coasts of the Jujubee Polar Sea and under the ice of the Global Glacier, filtering zooplankton as it goes. Both slightly longer and more streamlined than its ancestor, its "spiny" fins can be folded up against its body in order to reduce drag, though it only performs this if being chased as it reduces its maneuverability. They are known to form shoals of nearly a thousand individuals. Its skin is covered in tiny speckles that glint in the sunlight, breaking up the outline of individuals in a shoal and thus providing some protection from predators.
