Shrubites are a group of immobile creatures of the taxon Krakophyta that live underwater on the sea floor in the oceans and coasts and consumes microorganisms and biomaterials from the water. They have a jagged rigid form.
Anatomy
The shrubite is built out of three main parts. First its outer body, the layer of living cells also called the shell, that breath feed and release the spores. Inside it there is a major hollow chamber that contains the nutrients the shrubite gathers. Finally it has a set of roots used to gather these nutrients from the sea floor. Their outer shell is usually grayish and rigid.
Behavior
Breathing and Blood
The shrubites breath through their out shell of living cells. They have no vascular system and no blood except for the nutrients fluid they keep inside their hollow chamber.
Diet & Energy
Almost all classical shrubites feed by consuming useful edible particles and cells directly from the water by filter feeding. One line that evolved from the Crystal Shrubite though evolved a unique lifestyle. They became parasitic feeding. This was known as the Malakommalis.
Evolution
The shrubite was originally a symbiotic evolution of two creatures, the Krakowlimus Lithovora and the Binucleus Crystal Shrub. Some Krakowlimus that fed on the Crystal Shrub took useful parts of their DNA and in a unique symbiosis a new specie was evolved, the Crystal Shrubite.
Locomotion
The shrubite are immobille. However some species will hitch a ride on mobile creatures such as Crystal Root on Sailily or Malakommalis on Shellpede.
Reproduction
The shrubite reproduce very much like their relatives the crystal flora, they reproduce by spores. The spores have 3 stages. The first stage involve individual cells called proto-spores combing with each other to make the second stage spore. The second stage the separate micro spores that makes up the symbiotic organism. The third stage being when they combined creating a lager macro spore that will then after rooting in self grow in to the full size Shrubite.
Senses
The shrubites have very limited sensing of their environment. In fact except for the physically sensing of the particles they eat they have no other senses.
Size
Most shrubites come at the same sizes. They range from 1–2 meters tall.
Types of Shrubite
There are many types of shrubites from the tall Column Shrubite and Spiral Shrubite to the exotic Brain Shrubite and Antler Shrubite. There are even parasidic kinds of shrubite such as Malakommalis or Crystal Root which grows on the roots of the Sailily.
