The shelled nobom replaced the armored nobom on Yokto Island. Due the lack of space there was nowhere to run from predators so the shelled nobom didn't run; it developed more armor so predators could no longer eat them. Their hard shell keeps out most predators, even the claws of an azeraptor. Its iridescent sails have gotten smaller so there is less skin exposed, while the ears have grown bigger so it can detect predators from farther away so it can get a head start since it is very slow. Its front leg plates have developed into a digging tool in which it will make burrows to sleep in during the night.
