The schooling beakworm evolved from beaked deepworm pursuing vadum carpotesta luceremundare to shallower waters. They have developed primitive grouping behavior, which allows them to tackle their much larger prey without being eaten themselves. Small groups of 10 or so individuals will whip into a feeding frenzy and rip at their prey with their jagged beaks. They have also evolved more efficient eyes as a result of the move into lighter waters.
