Splitting from its ancestor, the scavenger scylarian has become a scavenger, feeding on the corpses of dead animals that float to the bottom of Artir Polar Bay. They rarely ever leave the bottom, except for when a predator appears. They also commonly get into fights with other scavenger scylarians over food. This leads to scars on their body, which is quite common.
Scavenger scylarians don't to stay with their young for too long. After six months, they leave their parents. This is an especially dangerous time for them, since starving adults will sometimes try to eat them.
