Having split from its ancestor, the razorclaw pipent became a formidable sight. With its razor-edged armnails, thick leathery armor, a vicious spiked tail, and a sharp upper jaw "beak" and fangs, it is a ferocious yet misleading sight. Despite these adaptations, the razorclaw pipent is a herbivorous species that uses its "arm-nails" to break apart the tough skins of some of its food sources, as well as to defend itself from potential predators and opponents during the mating season. Its partial "beak" aids it in crunching up the flora it eats, while its lower jaw teeth aid it pulverizing and gripping it. It will occasionally scavenge dead corpses, though this is usually only to supplement its diet. The species tends to live solitary life and only come together to mate. The female-male ratio has improved, with the number ratios becoming 4-1.
