The rake scorpion sauceback split from its ancestor and now hunts ironpin. Since its prey lacks eyes it no long relies on mimicry for hunting. What was once a tail spear is now a cluster of short tough spikes which are used to catch ironpin in the water, their ear prongs are now at their sides and pick up the minor flapping movements of their prey, and the major splashing movements of predators. Their tusks are short and have ridges, they are used to crack open the shells of ironpins. Only time that they leave the water is to lay their eggs on the river bank.
