Ancestor:Descendants:

The pwhorl replaced its ancestor in the Krakow Marsh. The most notable evolutionary leap the pwhorl has is sexual reproduction. The pod sex of the species spends all its life on the muddy bottom of the marsh continously growing and filter feeding. Inside the shell is an opening that allows for the spores of the whorl sex to enter when it is time for reproduction.

The whorl is the more unique of the two sexes. This little thing spends the majority of its life like a smaller version of the pod. When the mating season comes the mature whorls will break free from there muddy spots on the marsh bottom and swim around until they feel the tendrils of the pods against them. That feeling signals the whorls to release their spores which float down into the pod's cavity and pollinate the 'eggs' (which are actually just modified spores). Once pollinated the pod will contract its insides shooting out the 'eggs' to land in the mod and start their lives.
