Because of all the competition for food, the segmentocauda stilletiforma had to adapt to find a way of getting to food faster and to escape predators. They did this by evolving a new way to move; through methane propulsion. These "farts" allow it to travel at 2 meters per second to both catch their prey, and to escape predators. They get methane through digestion, and store it in a special chamber. However it takes lot of energy to use this so they only use it to escape or to catch food when they're starving. They also have grown fins to be even faster and more maneuverable, which are used more. They also have a new tool for catching food. Under their proboscises is a primitive jaw, used for eating dark swarmer tentacles. They also have primitive eyes help them find where dark swarmers are. Because of these advancements the probojet has replaced its ancestor.
