The plesican replaced its ancestor, the aabaalki. Like its ancestor it feeds on schools of krillpedes, however it has adapted a a large neck pouch to help it gulp up more prey in one bite. Small packs of them will help each other try to ball up the krillpedes so each gulp has more. Unlike their ancestors they no longer come to land. Their front flippers have groen much larger while their back flippers have grown smaller. Their ancestor had a small photosythetic patch, however instead the plesican's entire skin is photosynthetic. This dormant gene allows it to get a boost to energy like other photosynthetic plents do.
The females have a long gestation and offspring are born ready to swim. The juveniles stick close to their mothers for the first few months to protect them from predators. Once they are large enough they will either join their family group or form their own small group. They must look out for large predators such as the slender scylarian and magnificent slaesosaurus.
