Ancestor:Descendants:

The plated limbless split from its ancestor, the ringtail limbless and moved to the warmer regions of Jaydoh. There it found only one good food source, the pioneer retigroenx. For eating flora effectively, it has become very small due to island dwarfism and evolved molars. The molars have sharp edges at the outside of the jaw for cutting off pioneer retigroenx. To use the molars, it has evolved muscles which allow the lower jaw to move back and forth, grinding pioneer retigroenx up. It also has evolved a shovel-like head for digging out pioneer retigroenx roots.

The plated limbless usually searches a pioneer retigroenx and start digging out the roots, eating parts of it. When it is full, it will burrow itself in the sand and rest. When it gets hungry again, it will eat some more roots until it's full. At the third meal it will eat the leaf of the pioneer retigroenx. If they find one, the plated limbless will eat turridea grafts.

For defending itself, the plated limbless has evolved armor plates at its back. For defending from small predators it will try to hit the predator with its tail spikes or bite it with its sharp teeth. For defending from bigger creatures, it will quickly bury itself into the sand. When buried, it will use its eyestalks to see and its long nosestalks to breathe.
