Ancestor:Descendants:

The phibi split from its ancestor, the mud-spike. It has taken its first steps to becoming a land creature. The phibi begins its life much like its ancestor, swimming around in the muddy water eating river bubbleweed. When it grows into an adult it develops primitive lungs and stronger legs for sliding around the banks of the river and swamp. There it changes its diet and hunts powder petitworms. It must keep its skin moist by rolling around in the mud or sitting in the water. Their eyes have improved as well and they have developed an eye-lid to keep it protected. The juvenile's coloring is brown while the adults develop a bright orange crest. This is used for mating. The males will flash their head crests at the females. The best flasher gets the mate. When the crest is down they appear all brown and can hide from predators. This crest can also be used to stab the roof of a predator's mouth if it tries to eat them.
