Ancestor:Descendants:

The parasitic barb split from it's ancestor the yanimalius probisucker. It is now half the ancestor's size. It's middle proboscis developed into a thin barb that it sticks through the cell membrane of it's host to hang on. The two side proboscises developed short hollow barbs that they use to puncture the cell membrane and extract the cytoplasm of the host, they also developed hair-like organelles that they use to track down a host.
