Ancestor:Descendants:

The ovi island carpozoan microplaque replaced its ancestor on Ovi Island and lives only in the mouths of carpozoans. It now has a hook shaped flagellum that it grows into the surface of carpozoan teeth to absorb calcium. The cell is now narrower and stands up to take up less room so they group closer together, causing a biofilm that covers the teeth.
