The oukonu replaced its ancestor in Darwin Temperate Rainforest and Darwin Temperate Woodland. They have doubled in size and became completely carnivous, eating very large prey, mainly the barkskin. They are able to hunt barkskin because their front bottom teeth now act like tusks, which they use to stab the un protected areas. They hunt in packs of five or six, repeatly stabbing at their prey with their tusks. They usually turn to other creature when they are not able to hunt barkskin. They have evolved a moderately poisonous bite, which releases a toxin into their preys blood system. This blood slowly kills their prey, taking about 4–6 hours to take something large down, like a barkskin. They will follow it around until it dies, hiding in the shadows, then they feed on the rotting remains. It is the dominate female that feeds first, then the dominate male. No one else eats until they are finished.
