The orangemosses genus group split from their ancestors in the redmosses genus group. Their chlorophyll has not changed color, instead; pigments in the cell wall give them their orange color. They have lost their ancestors' Terran moss-like characteristics. They live all areas of Sagan IV, but they have much larger population in wet biomes, tinting the water a slight orange during the day.
