The olshkra split from its ancestor, the glaalgaes, and acquired a globular shape, surrounded by small leaf-lenses, placed all around the shrub. Similarly to its ancestor, it promotes the growth of nitrifying microbes around its roots, improving the nitrogen cycle in barren biomes. The round shape gives it a slightly larger area to absorb light, while still keeps the bush small, being also slightly raised from the ground, remaining over the snow.
