The nynhorm split from its ancestor and doubled its size. It evolved a more flexible body and turned the wings to the front side, in order to improve the flight when flying backwards. The wings are made by very thin membranes, having a greenish color in the tip, in order to act like fake eyes and prevent them to be eaten by predators.
In the same way as the powder petitworm, the nynhorm has several breathing holes in the head, but they in larger number on the top of it, acting like a suction cup. When feeding from pollen or other pieces of flora, the nynhorm can attach its body to shrubs and extend the long tongue in order to catch food. While attached it will open the wings and show the bright colors in its body.
The nynhorm will also protect the offspring during some time, weaving a silk bag and laying the eggs into it. The creature must be attached to some surface while weaving, and the nest remains attached to the body until most of the eggs hatch and leave it. Due to the flora similarities found in the eastern part of Darwin, the nynhorm was able to spread to the rainforests of the continent.
