The nogoddech split from their ancestor their ancestor, adapting further to land. They now live primarily on land, wallowing in mudpools to sustain their moisture. They only approach the rivers end if they sense danger. They are fully carnivorous do to the higher nutrient yield. Like their ancestors, their intake valves are now segmented, allowing for a pocket of water to be retained to keep them moist. Their gills have evolved pseudo alveoli, allowing for better gas exchange in the oxygen rich air. Their front fins are now jointed and muscular, allowing them to slide across the shorelines.
