After surviving the Gamma ray burst, starting to be preyed on by grattles, and surviving the recent Ice Comet, the noghog was vanishing, and had to adapt. The last noghogs had an advantage with so few herbivores still alive, and evolved into the nogbarrel, replacing it's ancestor. The nogbarrel has spread throughout south-eastern Glicker, filling up niches lost by the Ice Comet. The nogbarrel has developed strong, sharp teeth, able to chew though hard flora material, such as spikeblades. It's eyes have been re-arranged, and are covered with eyelashes, protecting it's eyes against dirt while digging. It's long, sharp, claws are also great at digging burrows, and are also used against predators, both front and back.

It's tail is now covered in quills, which can cause great pain, if not a slow death, for any attacker wanting to attack from behind. The nogbarrel also has a speckled green coating on it's back, which is very similar to it's ancestor's color, the nobuck. It also has a barrel-shaped belly, giving it it's name, making the nogbarrel appear like an alien rhynchosaur, a Triassic reptile. The nogbarrel only eats plants other than Black Flora or Shrooms. The nogbarrel still lives in huge tunnels made by it, but is now more social than it's ancestor. For instance they are no longer territorial, and live together in small communities. They also are still very reproductive and give birth to around 25 young each year. After spending it's early childhood in tunnels, young are then taught how to survive in the open world through foraging trips. These creatures live about 10–14 years.
