The nightcrystal is a hybrid of the crystal tree and the glowshroom. It replaced the crystal tree in Huggs Rainforest. The nightcrystal is descended from crystal trees which were parasitized by glowshrooms for so long that the very fungus-like material of the glowshroom hybridized with the fungus part of the crystal tree. Thus, the nightcrystal inherited the glowing capabilities of the glowshroom. The nightcrystal still produces spore filled "fruits" which are now on arching branches. The fruits drop off once they reach their maximum size. The spores are resistant enough to survive traveling through the digestive system of most creatures. The main crystal will glow green at night to attract nocturnal creatures to eat its "fruits". The crystal is still blue in the daylight hours. The nightcrystal has become shorter to fit under the many tall plants and trees in the Huggs Rainforest. This actually helps the nightcrystal by allowing shorter creatures to reach its fruits.
