Ancestor:Descendants:

Within the humid confines of the Darwin Temperate Rainforest, the nagraj has split from its ancestor and taken up the role of the regions apex predator. Both heavily armed and armored, it primarily hunts the various species of flunejaws that inhabit the area, using its powerful bite to cripple them. Few creatures can bite through the chainmail-like layer of bony nodules that lies just below its skin, save for others of its kind, and those that attempt to do so are often answered with a quick smack to the head with the club at the end of their tails.

Given their size and length once fully grown, only their young are at risk of predation. Said young thus tend to hide in regions of thick underbrush due to the fact that adult nargaj cannot reach them there. They will also aggregate along the beaches and swamps, feeding on the abundant tonboswarmers. Adults rarely go there, the salt being more irritable to their eyes than to those of their young.
