The munchicanth replaced their ancestors in the Soma coast, and moved south into warmer waters. Functionally, they occupy the same niche as their ancestors, but their diets have expanded to include the flora of the warmer climates. They are smarter, and swim in pods of a few dozen, communicating by shifting colors. They excrete their eggs onto their underbellies, and carry them until they hatch. They have a powerful bite, and are able to deliver lethal blows to predators that try to attack their young. If the predators are too large, they use their camouflage abilities to blend into the local environment.
