The mud-scooping scuttlecrab evolved from the leatherback scuttlecrab. It has developed a life in the muddy Hydro Swamp. It feeds upon swampgrass and digs most burrows to raise their young in. They have developed small communities as well to better take care of them, thus increasing the success of more adults. These colonies create many, many burrows that sometimes interconnect. Although it seems like they have the potential to become a full-fledged colony, for now they are just a group of creatures who nest in large numbers in the swamp away from any predators. Their legs and claws have adapted to become scoops for better moving of dirt. They also have developed eyelids so they can close them when digging.
