The morsuses genus group has replaced its ancestors, the morsus friga and other morsus turpis decedents on Sagan 4. They are a group of detritivore microbes that help keep the world clean of dead species. They have thick cell walls that have spines on them. These spines both protect them from predators but are also used to feed on decaying matter. When feeding they produce a digestive enzyme that helps break down its food. They are immobile and are primarily found in saltwater, however some species can be found in freshwater as well. They also are very simple and reproduce via mitosis, but they can also exchange genes by fusing together and then dividing.
