The mesa irontangle split from its ancestor, the irontangle. It no longer needs the vandriswoop and grows mainly on Ironrust Mesa due to its high iron content. However they do live on other iron rich mesas in Ittiz-Ovi Desert. They have 3 tendrils which grow on the mesa walls. On the tips of each tendrils it consumes iron from the mesa. In the center it grows up to 3 sticky cellballs which periodically fall off and stick to the mesa wall. Sometimes they stick to fauna which pass by and are distributed that way. They need almost no water to grow but when they do come in contact with water they will thrive. However flash floods can dislodge them from the walls. They have a heat resistant outer coating to protect them when the mesa gets all red hot. The cellballs are heat resistant as well. However if its gets too hot this can kill them off and thus reduce the population for a period of time.
