Ancestor:Descendants:

The mason gildling split from its ancestor, the gildling. As life arrived on Mason on an orbit voltflora seed, only a few forms of life were present. The empty niches, along with increased levels of radiation, led to a "Oathinian Explosion", with many new evolutions of the original hitchhiker organisms. The mason gildling has reversed the multicellularity of its ancestor, becoming unicellular once again. It is now fully aquatic, growing in the tidepools and wet sands on beaches, and the water of rivers and the sea. They float throughout the water, being found on the surface, or deep underwater. To reproduce, they detach an "arm", which grows into a new gildling.
