Ancestor:Descendants:

The marine tamow split from the scaleback tamow. It has become amphibious and more social than their ancestor. They work as a group to build floating homes in the water. These drift all over and bring them to new places to get food. They spend most of their lives in these floating homes and come to land to get more materials to repair their home. These floating homes can get up to 10 meters across. To get in they enter from a hole in the top.

Their club-like tails have become flat to help push them through the water when swimming. Their clawed feet now have webbing as they are not only used to swim but to breach off branches. Their teeth have gotten stronger too to help it gnaw at tree trunks. They only a have a few keratin scales now, but the ones they do have are hollow and keep them afloat with swimming. Their fur is very oily and helps keep their bodies dry even when swimming.

Like their ancestors, they are warm blooded and give birth to live young. The live young live in the warm pouch until they either have grown too big or they grow scales. However they will still nurse milk from the mother for up to a year after birth even if they cannot fit in the pouch. Females do not leave the floating home since it would drown their babies. Males must bring food back to their home for its mate and offspring.
