The mainland fuzzpalm replaced their ancestor. They have grown larger, and have spread inland to many adjacent forest and jungle biomes. Their trunk structure is more adaptive, allowing the fuzzpalms to bend and twist their way thru the canopies to reach sunlight. They grow much more rapidly than their ancestors, reaching full size in a few years, but only live at most 30 years. Otherwise, they are functionally the same as their ancestor. They can produce millions of berries over their lifetimes, which then either drop to the ground and grow or are carried off by herbivores and released in their dung.
