The magnet headed rustling split from its ancestor and further evolved their bio-electric ability. Their head-size has increased a lot strengthening this ability quite a bit, and the amount of iron this trick draws makes this a preferable way of obtaining food, however, if the magnet head is low on energy it will savor this ability for an emergency, should the magnet prove fruitless the magnet headed rustling would be is serious trouble so it rather looks for carcasses to scavenge in such a scenario. To make feeding easier the magnet head uses its front claws to dig a small hole in the ground using its keen sense of smell to search for iron then use its long mouth peace to feed on the iron that is drawn to its forhead. They reproduce like their ancestor, budding a shiny metal egg from their back.
