Ancestor:Descendants:

The lungsnatch replaced its ancestor, the rapidsnatch as well as the frigidsnatch. The reason for this is its new method of respiration. It has developed primitive lungs which allow it to keep it head out of the water all the time. This allows it to snatch flying prey as will as swimming prey. Its 2 pairs of eyes on its head have gotten more advanced eyes can detect prey better. It has also grown much, much bigger and its the top predator in the southern coastlines of Jujubee Ocean.

Lungsnatches tend to mate in the spring and then lay their eggs in the summer. Females will lay their "mermaid purse" eggs in the sand on the coastal sea floor. Each egg has a fatty layer around it to keep it protected from the icy waters. Females do not care for their young and the offspring must survive on their own. Thus the abundant smaller prey are perfect for them.

The frigidsnatch has gone extinct in the ice caves because there are not enough food to support them.
