The leaping flapper split from its ancestor and now lives along the beaches of Fermi. On the beach the only predators they had to worry about were land bound, the bladesnapper feeding exclusively on aquatic fauna. Unlike their ancestor they do not display warning flags on their wings, instead using them to flee from attackers. By flapping their wings while running they are able to greatly increase their speed, especially on steep ground. Further more, by leaping from dunes or crags they are able to fly short distances.
