The lancerid split from the fishing grasper. The lancerid started specializing in hunting aquatic creatures. To do this, it's front tooth evolved into a very large spear shaped spike. He usually stands near the water watching any organism swimming by, and then pierce it when it comes close enough. The Lancerids are still able to swim, South Tundra and the South Tundra Lakes lancerids will sometimes get in the water to hunt corkscrew uksips when food is scarce. One of the toes on each foot has been placed backwards, wich gives them grip when they need to walk on ice. It´s also useful for grabbing the prey from the lance tooth. The Lancerids skin has become totally dark wich helps it absorb a little more warmth and they became bigger to withstand the cold and so they can catch prey more easilly. They no longer live on Huggs Beach because there is nothing for them to catch.
